Wappingers Jr. was proud to celebrate Law Enforcement Appreciation Day (L.E.A.D.) by recognizing the dedication and service of those who work tirelessly to keep our community safe. We extend our sincere thanks to Sergeant Michael Rahilly for joining us in our celebration and for his continued commitment to public service. His presence made the day especially meaningful for our students and staff, and we are grateful for the time he took to connect with our school community. Thank you, Sergeant Rahilly, for your service, leadership, and support. We truly appreciate all that you do.

Mr. Harry Ramirez shares the rich traditions of 3 Kings Day with students, teaching them about the cultural significance and joyful celebrations of this Puerto Rican holiday. Celebrated on January 6th, it marks the arrival of the Three Kings and the spirit of giving and community.

Winter Sports Pictures will be taken on Thursday, January 15 immediately after school.

Photo Issues:

It has come to our attention that some parents have received purchased photos of other students or staff members. If this has happened to you, please have your child bring the incorrect photos and their envelope to Ms. Morrison in Room 125. We are actively tracking these errors to resolve the issue.

Student of the Month

Wappingers Rotary Club Student of the Month

Each third Thursday of the month, we celebrate the outstanding achievements of our 8th grade students at Wappingers Junior High and neighboring schools. These students are nominated by their teachers for their excellence in various areas such as overcoming obstacles, kindness to others, leadership abilities, and academic or behavioral improvements.

The Rotary Club Student of the Month program is organized by Wendy McNamara and supported by our generous sponsor, DCH Toyota Wappingers Falls. The awardees are recognized at a lunch meeting at Longobardi Restaurant, where they invite family and faculty to join in the celebration.

Beacon Elks Student(s) of the Month

We are partnering with Little Caesars for a fundraising event to support WJHS student activities, including the Academic Breakfast, sports recognition events, the annual Ice Cream Social, and more! Skip the “What’s for dinner?” stress and stock up on delicious Little Caesars kits.
