WJHS Community Comes Together to Support Miles of Hope

The combined efforts of WJHS 7th and 8th graders, along with our dedicated staff and families, raised an impressive $2,486 for Miles of Hope! Students contributed $1,910, and staff and families added $576, showcasing a wonderful spirit of generosity and community. A special thank you to PE teacher Ms. Zehr for leading this meaningful initiative!

Bell-to-Bell Cellphone Ban

New York State signed into law a ban on all cell phones and other internet-capable devices in schools. This ban will take effect this September. We’d like to share an overview of the law and what the expectations will be for all of our students in September.

🏀 PE Intramurals (Nov. 10–14)

Morning Sessions: 6:30 AM – 7:30 AM
📍 Gym – Both Grades Welcome

  • Monday / Wednesday / Thursday / Friday: Basketball

  • No sign-ups needed — just show up!

  • You may arrive anytime between 6:30 and 7:30 AM

  • Don’t forget your sneakers!

❄️ Winter Sports Registration (2025–26 Season)

Is your student interested in Basketball, Cheer, or Wrestling?
Registration for Winter Sports is open now through Monday, November 17, 2025.

  • Physical exams must be dated November 1, 2024 or later

  • Medication orders (for inhalers, epi-pens, insulin pumps) must be uploaded and indicate that the student can self-carry/administer

  • Registration is available via Arbiter Sports
    → Choose Wappingers Junior High School at the bottom of the page
